Iran vows proportional response to threats against key infrastructure

IRGC warns U.S. over escalation risks

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warned the United States that any threat to Iran will be met with a proportional, deterrent response, following US allegations that the Corps planned attacks on regional desalination plants. The IRGC denied carrying out such actions and accused US forces and their allies of initiating aggression, citing recent strikes on civilian sites including a school in Minab and several water infrastructure points.

The statement said Iran withheld retaliation after hospitals, relief centers and schools were struck, but vowed reciprocal action if US forces target critical infrastructure. It specified that any Iranian reprisals would focus on power plants serving US bases and economic, industrial and energy sites tied to American interests. The Corps framed its response as calibrated to restore deterrence, declaring readiness to demonstrate capabilities on the battlefield.

The IRGC also claimed responsibility for strikes on sensitive American and Israeli targets across the region as part of its ongoing Operation True Promise 4, and warned the United States that it does not fully appreciate Iran’s capabilities. The message underscored escalating rhetoric and the risk of further military confrontation as both sides exchanged accusations and threats.
