Tehran rallies mourn slain schoolchildren
Some Iranians formed human chains across several Iranian cities
Thousands gathered in Tehran to mourn schoolchildren killed in strikes on Minab and to protest US and Israeli actions, with photos of the deceased displayed on Hijab Street and participants—mostly women and children—chanting and waving Iranian flags. The commemorations focused on pupils from Shajarat al-Tayyiba Girls Primary School, struck on Feb. 28.
Iranian officials say the Feb. 28 offensive by US and Israeli forces inflicted heavy casualties and prompted a series of retaliatory drone and missile strikes targeting Israel and countries hosting US assets, disrupting regional infrastructure, markets and aviation. Iranian statements emphasized resistance while calling for a lasting resolution.
Meanwhile some Iranians formed human chains across several Iranian cities, gathering on bridges and around power plants as U.S. strikes on Iran intensified and President Donald Trump's deadline to unleash "hell" nears.
The rallies and human chains reflect rising domestic mobilization and the deepening regional crisis as diplomatic options remain stalled and both sides exchange military and political escalation.
