Iran praises Pakistan mediation efforts

Iran’s president told Pakistan’s interior minister that the US and Israel seek to sow division among Muslim states, while Iran pursues stable, friendly ties with neighbors. He praised Pakistan’s mediation of a temporary ceasefire and its role in preventing use of its territory against Iran, and condemned the US–Israeli strikes that killed senior Iranian figures as crimes violating international norms.

Pakistan’s minister affirmed Islamabad’s efforts to reduce tensions and expressed hope for deeper bilateral cooperation; he arrived in Tehran on an unannounced visit and met senior Iranian officials.

Also Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf said the joint US–Israeli aggression revealed that American military presence in West Asia brings insecurity rather than protection, urging regional states to build security through mutual trust and coordination without foreign interference. He criticized US and Israeli policies as sources of instability and called for strengthened regional cooperation.

Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Tehran–Islamabad ties have deepened and praised Iran’s defense of national interests during Pakistan-mediated talks. Naqvi expressed hope Islamabad can help conclude negotiations. Qalibaf, who led Iran’s delegation in Islamabad, welcomed Pakistan’s support. Pakistan has been brokering indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington after the two sides agreed to a ceasefire following 40 days of intense fighting on April 8.

Meanwhile Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has been appointed as the country's special representative for China affairs, Fars news agency reported. Qalibaf served as Iran's chief negotiator in peace talks with the United States following the April 8 ceasefire after 40 days of fighting.
