Los Bukis, the iconic Mexican grupero band established in 1973, received their 2,817th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at 7060 Hollywood Boulevard, in the Recording category. The dedication ceremony, hosted by comedian Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias and featuring actor Demian Bichir, attracted thousands of fans, prompting the City of Los Angeles to declare the day “Los Bukis Day.” Frontman Marco Antonio Solís accepted the honor on behalf of the band, dedicating it to the immigrant community in the U.S. He highlighted the contributions of immigrant service workers, referring to them as the "silent force" whose efforts often go unrecognized.

This recognition underscores Los Bukis’ significant impact on Spanish-language music and enhances the visibility of Latin artists in American popular culture. The band boasts a remarkable legacy, including 16 studio albums, historic sold-out performances, and a record-breaking reunion tour in 2021. The celebration emphasizes the band's enduring influence, cultural pride, and support for immigrant communities, bringing their Mexican musical identity to Hollywood.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the Walk of Fame, expressed pride in honoring Los Bukis, noting their music has been a vital part of the Mexican experience for over two decades. Formed by cousins Marco Antonio and Joel Solís, Los Bukis initially struggled before achieving success with their 1976 hit "Falso Amor." The 1980s marked their rise to prominence, with hits like "Tu Cárcel" earning them Mexico's first Diamond Record and multiple Grammy nominations.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame continues to celebrate artistic achievements, connecting fans with their favorite artists through star ceremonies.
