Iran projects defiance after conflict
Tehran said national unity and resilience strengthened its regional standing
Iranian leaders portrayed the country as resilient and more influential regionally following what Tehran called a US‑Israeli campaign, framing recent events as evidence of national unity and defiance. President Masoud Pezeshkian praised public solidarity during the 40‑day conflict and reconstruction, condemning strikes on sports venues and civilian infrastructure as assaults on national dignity. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi rejected US narratives about the Strait of Hormuz, calling Washington’s actions an “illegal blockade” that has destabilised the vital energy corridor, and denounced the UAE for hosting Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu, labelling Abu Dhabi’s cooperation “unforgivable.”
Officials reiterated claims of legal authority for Iran’s maritime actions and accused the US of coercing support for a politicised UN resolution against Tehran.
The Iranian government also highlighted international sympathy, noting Russia’s pledge to seek peaceful solutions and condemn Western strikes. Iranian statements emphasized endurance, legal justification, and readiness to resist external pressure as central to Tehran’s response.
