Iran praises Pakistan mediation role

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised Pakistan’s mediation in securing a ceasefire, calling Islamabad’s role “effective and responsible” and reaffirming Iran’s commitment to regional peace and stability. Meeting Pakistani Army chief Asim Munir, Pezeshkian thanked Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for facilitating talks and hosting the Iranian delegation, and stressed Iran seeks its rights within international law while viewing Islamic countries as fraternal partners.

Pezeshkian defended recent strikes on US bases in Persian Gulf Arab states as acts of legitimate self‑defense, blamed the Zionist regime for fomenting regional conflicts, and urged Islamic nations to unite to prevent exploitation of their lands.

Reiterating that Iran does not seek instability but aims to strengthen brotherly ties, Pezeshkian welcomed Pakistan’s efforts to end the war and called on other Islamic states to follow suit.

General Munir conveyed condolences over recent losses, welcomed the visit as a sign of sincere friendship, and emphasized the need for collective rebuilding and stability, noting support from countries including China, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey for the diplomatic process.
