Iran says 16,000 wounded in strikes
Health officials report heavy civilian toll
Iran Healthcare authorities report more than 16,000 people wounded in ongoing strikes on civilian areas, with 14,904 treated and discharged and 1,448 still hospitalized. Among the dead are at least 200 minors, including 11 children under five; over 1,100 of the injured are under 18 and 41 are toddlers under two.
Women account for about 2,500 of the injured and 220 of the fatalities. Medical teams have performed 680 emergency surgeries since the conflict began; at least 80 healthcare workers have been wounded and 13 killed while on duty. Authorities say more than 25 hospitals, 149 clinics and 21 emergency-response centers have been damaged and six hospitals evacuated after sustained bombardment, severely degrading medical capacity.
Rescue crews in Tehran recovered bodies and searched rubble after a missile strike hit residential buildings near Resalat Square, leaving apartments partially collapsed and prompting local residents and emergency responders to join dangerous searches amid unstable structures.
The strikes are described by authorities as part of coordinated U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iranian military and government sites, with repeated air and missile strikes hitting Tehran and other cities and raising mounting humanitarian concerns as urban areas face increasing devastation.
