Around 130,000 fans gathered in one of the most important avenues in Guadalajara to witness an exhibition tour by Mexican driver Sergio Pérez prior to the Formula 1 Mexico City Grand Prix, which will take place next weekend.

The number of attendees at this exhibition of "Checo" Pérez was announced by the Government of Jalisco and was close to the record of 150,000 people who celebrated the championship of the popular local soccer team "Chivas" in May 2017.

The 32-year-old driver made this exhibition tour in his hometown aboard an RB7 car, a model used by the Red Bull team in the 2011 season, when his drivers were the German Sebastian Vettel and the Australian Mark Webber.

To watch the passage of the Mexican pilot from a comfortable place, hundreds of people camped in the surroundings of the circuit traced on Vallarta Avenue, especially in the Minerva roundabout.

Hundreds of people, many wearing Red Bull t-shirts, walked to get closer to the Minerva.

Dozens of vendors selling hats, key chains and flags shouted their wares. At nine in the morning the activities began. There were spectators from other cities.

Sergio Pérez will participate in the Mexico City Grand Prix in search of the points that will lead him to the drivers' runner-up position, whose title was won by his teammates at Red Bull, the Dutchman Max Vertappen.

Currently, Pérez is third with 265 points, to 267 of Charles Leclerc, Monegasque Ferrari driver, who is in second place.
