Bezzecchi wins U.S. MotoGP race
Italian rider takes third straight victory
Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi extended a flawless run by winning the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, securing his third straight victory of the season and fifth consecutive including last year. Bezzecchi led all 20 laps and finished 2.036 seconds clear of teammate Jorge Martín, with Pedro Acosta overcoming an eighth‑place grid start—penalized after the sprint—to complete the podium.
The result propelled Bezzecchi back to the top of the championship standings on 81 points, four ahead of Martín, who had won the sprint race. Pole‑sitter Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Racing) took fourth, while defending Austin winner Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team) managed only 10th.
The weekend featured dramatic incidents in the support classes. A heavy first‑lap crash in Moto2 at Turn 11 involving nine riders forced a red flag; two riders—Ángel Piqueras (QJMOTOR – GALFER – MSI) and Alberto Ferrández (BLU CRU Pramac Yamaha Moto2)—were taken for medical treatment, while the remainder were able to restart for a 10‑lap sprint. Senna Agius (LIQUI MOLY Dynavolt Intact GP) held off a late charge from Celestino Vietti (HDR SpeedRS Team) to claim his third career Moto2 victory.
In Moto3, Guido Pini (Leopard Racing) produced a dramatic last‑corner pass to nip Máximo Quiles (CFMoto Valresa Aspar Team) by 0.056 seconds for the win. The results across classes highlighted close competition and momentum shifts as the championship progresses.
Bezzecchi’s commanding performance in Austin underlined both his racecraft and Aprilia’s competitiveness, with consistent pace, effective tire management and clean race execution enabling him to control the race from the front. The Italian’s run has strengthened his standing as a leading title contender and will put pressure on rivals to respond in upcoming rounds. Teams and riders now turn focus to the next European races, where strategies and setup choices will be scrutinized as contenders seek to halt Bezzecchi’s winning streak and close the championship gap.
