India and China’s position on the war in Ukraine

India and China. What is the position of these countries on the issue of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine? Opinion of Ukrainian political expert  Stanislav Zholudev.

In India and China. Officially, they are still neutral. On the one hand China seems to conduct joint exercises of strategic aviation with Russia, but the next day it adopts sanctions packages against the Russian Federation. That is the answer to this question - they demonstrate one thing, but they declare something else.

It is very important for China to weaken Russia's global position as much as possible in order to facilitate its expansion - economic or even territorial - in the Far East.

The economic ties between China and Russia are 2%, and with the United States they are 35%. And of course the loss of the American market or possible sanctions from the main economic partner on China in case it even formally supports Russian aggression - they are much more risks for the Chinese economy.

About  India  The main reason for the protests in Sri Lanka was the new food crisis, which was provoked by the Russian Federation and the aggression in Ukraine.

India can act as a certain intermediary in Russia's attempts to somehow convince the global community to reduce the sanctions pressure on Russia.

Because there will be a famine in the South from India.

The main task is to maintain its influence in the South of th Asian continent. And it will try to get any help and support in this sense, including from Russia. And Russia, which now controls the flow of food in a certain way, can blackmail Delhi in the same way, demanding support.

At the same time, Ukraine has asked India and offered China to become guarantors of its security. Ukraine expects Beijing to facilitate a peaceful resolution of the conflict between the two countries, and India to help rebuild the country after the end of the war.
